Why Should We Worship Allah Alone?

Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge—except what He wills ˹to reveal˺. His Seat encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Most High, the Greatest.

"Before we begin, it is essential to praise and glorify Allah, whose blessed name and attributes have no equal. He is the sole and unparalleled one who provides sustenance to every living being, grants healing to the sick, and illuminates our hearts with His light. His mercy sustains the entire universe. We initiate with praise and glorification of Allah.

Allah, who is omnipresent, nonetheless provides for us, ensuring we lack nothing. He listens to our prayers, forgives us, and does not reproach us. If we commit a mistake, people will not forgive us and will continue to taunt us throughout our lives. However, Allah neither taunts nor punishes us. Instead, He accepts our repentance with a single tear and forgives us.

Not only does He forgive, but He also transforms our sins into good deeds. How merciful is my Allah! Then why should we abandon Him and worship others?

Imagine if you were parents and your children left you to live with someone else, calling them their parents, obeying them, and serving them. How strange would it be that a mother who carried her child for nine months, enduring hardships and pain, and brought them into the world, would be abandoned by that child when they grew up and gained understanding? It would cause her immense grief, to the point of wishing to die.

A mother who bears countless hardships and pains, and then, instead of punishing the child for causing her suffering, embraces them with love and affection, holding them close to her heart. Just after the birth

The purpose of this conversation is to make you ponder that there is one Allah who created humans with His own hands, breathed life into them, and sustains them with His mercy. Despite our numerous sins, He doesn't punish us immediately.

Wouldn't it provoke Allah's anger if the being He created with love, granted life, and empowered with speech, hearing, movement, and sight were to abandon Him and worship someone else instead?

Just as a mother forgives her child's countless mistakes, Allah also gives His servants respite, hoping they will return to Him. However, humans lack the wisdom to comprehend this.

There's a Hadith that conveys...

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Every child is born in a state of fitrah (the natural state of iman, i.e., Islam), then his parents make him into a Jew or a Christian or a Magian.”

Every human being is born with the natural inclination of Islam, but as they grow older, acquire understanding, and develop the ability to think, they abandon Allah and start worshiping others. Humans are created to contemplate and reflect on Allah's creation, but it's their own hearts that lack the capacity for rational thought.

If humans were to ponder, they would never be able to fully comprehend Allah's power and mercy, even if they were to reach the age of death. May Allah grant us the wisdom to recognize our true faith and enable us to act upon it perfectly.

Ameen, Allahumma Ameen.

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “He is Allah—One ˹and Indivisible˺;

Allah—the Sustainer ˹needed by all˺.

He has never had offspring, nor was He born.

And there is none comparable to Him.”

Qur'an: 112:1-4

And with this, we conclude with the recitation of Surah Ikhlas. May Allah reward you with goodness, Jazakallah Khair.
